PU (polyurethane) waterproofing coating is a liquid-applied membrane that forms a tough, flexible, and seamless waterproof barrier on surfaces like roofs, balconies, and basements. It protects against leaks and moisture by adhering strongly to various materials, withstanding structural movements, and resisting UV rays, chemicals, and abrasion. The coating can be single-component or two-component and comes in solvent-based or water-based formulations.

X-Shield AcrylCoat is a high-performance, single-component, water-based, elastic acrylic coating designed for waterproofing, restoration, and protection of various surfaces. It is manufactured by X-Calibur and provides a seamless, flexible, and UV-stable membrane. 

Product Description

X-Shield AcrylCoat is formulated using high-performance acrylic copolymers, fillers, and wetting agents. It is designed to be environmentally friendly, breathable, and is available in grey, white, and beige, with a solar reflective grade available upon request.

Typical Uses

Wet Areas: Waterproofing in bathrooms, kitchens, and showers.

Roofs: Waterproofing new roofs and restoring existing ones.

Metal Roofs: Restoration of metal roofs.

Fiber Cement Roofs: Restoration of fiber cement roofs.

Concrete Structures: General waterproofing applications. 

Specifications and Technical Data

Tensile Strength: > 1.0 MPa (145 psi).

Elongation: > 350%.

Water Permeability: Nil at 10m head.

Water Vapor Transmission: 2.3g/m2.h.

Chloride Permeability: Negligible.

Solid Content: 54% ± 2 (typical for acrylic types).

VOC Content: < 50 g/L.

Color: Grey, White, and Beige.

Packaging: 20-liter pails.

Shelf Life: 12 months when stored below 30C (86F). 

Application Guidelines

Coverage: Approximately 1.76 L/m² (primer plus 2 coats, total Dry Film Thickness of 1.2 mm).

Surface Prep: Substrate must be clean, dry, and sound. Concrete should be free of oil, grease, paint, or laitance.

Priming: Dilute X-Shield AcrylCoat with 20% clean potable water and apply at a rate of 0.2 L/m².

Mixing: Do not add water to the mixed coating.

Method: Apply via roller, brush, or airless spray.

Limitations: Do not apply if the temperature is within 3C of the dew point, or if it is within 5C of the dew point and dropping.
